short watermelon post

i know it's been done before, but these colors are delicious together.. pink and green are also the colors related to the heart chakra! i used all new Aromaleigh colors for this look. lately, all the sample bags from the new AL collections have just been out on my vanity, since they are still exciting =)

so.. next weekend we will be traveling to Los Angeles, CA. it'll be from friday - sunday. i'm pretty excited, thought it will be a short, dreamlike trip. i can't wait to talk more about it, but for now i'll leave you with that tidbit.

Aromaleigh - new collection shades!

i am finally posting new pictures!! these looks were all done with the new Aromaleigh collections.. that i love. i ordered sample sets of starry night, fall tapestry, and valentines 2011. i think i may hold off on anymore orders until a few more collections are released, though it has been exciting to see so many new colors!! please forgive the state of my eyebrows =(

also, you may be seeing more posts from me.. i switched from using my macbook to edit/post, to using the huge iMac that has been untouched by me until i got the bright idea to use it instead. it's so much better!! and for some reason, my photos don't lose color when i post them from the iMac!

what's been new with you? i am excited to be back into posting! i've been making a ton of jewelry, and even started an etsy shop. i'll post the link to it when i have more than 2 items up =) send me an email, let's talk.

i've been using Fyrinnae's Medieval Haunting on my brows, it's highly pigmented and a little gold.. i love it!

PICTURE HEAVY... !

Hello everyone!! I've gathered a good amount of energy to post a good post. I recently made a small Aromaleigh order (WAT?? They are still open?? I know, right?). I got 6 full sized jars and I want to show you the pretty colors!! I got a sample set of the Valentine09 collection too, I am fully impressed.
*This post will only prove how nerdy I am about describing color.*
Fidelius - This is a gold eyeshadow with tiny red glitter in it and rainbow sparks. The shadow itself seems dull at first, but when applied is so soft and magnificent. You should see it in the sun, GOD.

Eos - Don't be fooled by this soft looking red. It's hiding some dark purple glitter from you and a gold sheen! This one might actually have magical properties.

Impossible Things - I was initially uninspired by the sample bag I got. At the time, I was overwhelmed with all the samples I had received and didn't pay much attention to it. Recently I wanted to use a green I'd never used, and this one may be my new favorite. Perfect neutral green with bright blue sparks.. they don't fade away when applied, either.

-Astronomical Shades-

Nadir - I got this one for one reason: it reminded me of Urban Decay's Sin. It definitely resembles it when applied, with the addition of peachy-pink sparks and a pale, milky blue undertone. The shadow itself leans warmer and is SO much better than sin.

Binary - Reminds me of another AL shade, can you guess which one?

Heliosphere - Is a light, mystical gold with hidden red glitter and gold sparks. The description sounds the same as Fidelius. The difference is that the shadow itself is a lighter gold, and the glitter is more prevalent.. not as sparkling.

maybe us beauty bloggers should band together to create a Zine..

so i got inspired by a picture in Allure magazine (DOUBLE BARF) of all things. the only reason i have a subscription to this horrid magazine is because they actually have good makeup looks (and bc i wanted to support my little bros school fundraiser haha). if anyone could PLEASE RECOMMEND a magazine that doesn't involve articles about plastic surgery, how to lose weight fast, and how to obsess even further about how disgusting our bodies are and how we should always look good for men.. i'd be more than grateful. i'm so offended when i actually try and read anything in Allure. seriously all i want to see in a magazine are inspiring photos and possibly some tried and true product recommendations. it's becoming more and more obvious to me that all those magazines; Lucky, Allure, even Vogue are being paid by the same huge cosmetic brands to recommend their products even if they suck or contain crappy ingreedz.

UDPP and PE
-AL - Morsmorde all over outer lid and lower lashline
-AL - Just A Head on lower lashline under Morsmordre to blend down
- AL - Serpensortia on inner v and blended out a lil
- AL - Priori Encantato above Morsmordre and blended together
- MAC - Chill under brow and blended down into Priori Encantato
- MAC - Yogurt all around eye area to soften.
-Maybelline Volume Mascara.. black tube with red foil letters. great brush and formula!

what a wonderful mess! the thing is.. it's not messy to me, it's an organized pile that LOOKS like a mess. haha, it's not always like this.

alright, i always do this. like a true procrastinat0r, i've gotten into the habit of waiting til the verrry end of the day, well into the night to begin a new blog post. NOT COOL. i promise to do it when i'm not tired so i can put full focus on making a quality post. this time, i will post pictures and come back tomorrow and edit in the products i used.

-AL - Hyperion all over top lid. it's the one with the little irridescent red flakes of glitter. it's AMAZING.
-Fyrinnae - OMGWTF on outer and middle lid
-Fyrinnae - Danse Macabre in crease and on outer lower lashline
-AL - Impossible Things on middle lower lashline
-AL - Lumos on inner V

i'm not really proud of this look. i mean, it was okay irl. but it's a typical color combo and i didn't do a very good job. i was rushing to go to my moms house an hour+ away!

-AL - Orchideous all over top lid
-AL - Hearts A' Plenty on middle part of lid, but i hardly used it.
-AL - Apocolypse Pansy is the dark purple you see. lower lashline also.
-AL - Odile is the cool, sparkly purple you see on the outer liner wing. it's also on the lower lashline a little
-Urban Decay - Maui Wowie on inner v.

oh yeah!! kathyfuckingjacobs, Painted, and makeupzombie, have given me a blog award! i don't really know what to do with it since i am a total blog n00b.. but man i feel loved and appreciated. you guys are the BEST!

hello y'all. this look was inspired yesterday when i wasted my time reading someones hate filled, angry blog post about how much they hate someone. haha, yeah. i know, it had nothing to do with me, but it was the perfect example of what i posted about last week: as women, we should be supportive of each other instead of BASHING each other. like, live and let live RIGHT?

haha. ok, so i was inspired to deal with my feelings in a healthy way by choosing angry eyeshadow names. they perfectly describe the author of the post i read =) also, i'm not sure what fruminous means, but it sounds angry.

I used:
Aromaleigh (AL)- Brazen & Bitter all over top lid and inner V
AL - Fruminous on lower lashline
AL - Temper, Temper in crease and smoked up a lil
Detrivore Cosmetics - Carnage all around eye area, used for softening edges. under inner brow
MAC - Chill under brow
Kryolan Aqua Color liner
DiorShow mascara
Meow Cosmetics Livid Lilac blush
LIPS - Maybelline lipstick in 515 Coral Crush
NYC liquid lipshine in Sheer Ruby on top (this combo is magical)

i hope y'all liked this look. it looked SO GOOD irl!! i think it's a new favorite. anyway, here's to positive posts in the future!
